The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC) has launched a sexual and reproductive health campaign to declare its “unwavering commitment” to the bodily rights of women. This statement coincides with Sexual and Reproductive Health Awareness Week 2025.

The organization recognizes the “alarming backsliding of women’s reproductive rights in many regions” and Canada’s “significant progress, [but] persistent gaps in services and accessibility.” These issues extend to women in rural and remote communities, as well as the cost of reproductive health services. SOGC’s sexual and reproductive health campaign also aims to address mis- and disinformation in women’s health through its educational platforms such as SexandU.ca. This resource offers evidence-based information on a variety of topics, including contraception, pregnancy planning, sexually transmitted infections, and more.
