The ChargePoint Essential Cloud Plan is being launched as a new option for retailers that will help to eliminate the ongoing software subscription fees to make electric vehicle charging stations more affordable for small businesses to offer.

The plan will tap into the charging revenue to cover the cost of subscription fees and thus offer a financing option for businesses that might otherwise have a difficult time incorporating it into their budget. The surplus revenue that’s collected from the EV charging station is then paid out to the owner after months costs have been covered.

The ChargePoint Essential Cloud Plan could help to expand EV charging infrastructure by reducing the associated costs for providers and also maximizing revenue.
