Brevel and the CBC Group have signed a 10-year agreement in which Brevel will supply algae-based ingredients, including protein, oils, and antioxidants. Through this partnership, the two companies aim to develop innovative functional beverages and dairy alternatives that incorporate these nutrient-rich ingredients.

Brevel’s unique production method combines “light with sugar fermentation in controlled bioreactors, enabling the efficient and large-scale cultivation of microalgae without genetic modification.” Unlike traditional fermentation, which occurs in darkness, Brevel’s process integrates light, improving production efficiency and increasing yield. As a result, microalgae naturally provide a rich source of protein, healthy fats, fiber, and antioxidants.

By leveraging this advanced approach, the collaboration seeks to expand the use of microalgae as a sustainable and cost-effective ingredient in the functional food and beverage market.
