Set to open at 153 Mercer Street in New York City, Proenza Schouler’s upcoming flagship store introduces a fresh approach to luxury retail. The design aesthetics move away from conventional store layouts and instead, blend fashion with an art gallery-inspired experience. Designed by Kate McCollough, the store features minimalist aesthetics with white walls, polished concrete floors, and sculptural display elements. Rather than traditional racks and shelving, the collection is presented on large-scale geometric forms that create a museum-like atmosphere. Accessories such as shoes and bags are showcased in recessed niches, while plush-carpeted fitting rooms provide a contrasting softness to the store’s otherwise industrial feel.
Proenza Schouler’s new retail space emphasizes fluidity and discovery. This concept, which is designed to evolve over time rather than remain static, aligns with the brand’s ethos.
